Shave Bar | My Cluckin' Bath + Body

I usually don’t leave reviews until I’ve had a few rounds to properly judge a product. But the Cluck Hut Shave Bar? Let’s just say it was love at first glide for this Mr. Clean wannabe.

I’ve been bald going on 15 years. Not only do I love being bald — it’s part of who I am — but I’ve always believed I look pretty damn good this way (even back when I was hauling around some extra cargo). Needless to say, I’ve used just about every shave product under the sun. I even tried a household steak knife once, purely in the name of science. Spoiler: do not recommend.

Over time, I ditched the “might explode if you look at it wrong” canned foams, flirted with shave butters, and for the past year settled into traditional shave soaps. They’re fine — but they really demand that frothy lather to get the job done.

Then came today. I stepped into the shower, safety and straight razor in hand, and grabbed the Cluck Hut Shave Bar. I’d read the handy little instruction card (yes, I follow directions), lathered up, and immediately thought, “Oh no.”

The texture? Slippery. Slick. No lather whatsoever — which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but if you’ve got bad lighting, you’d have no idea anything was even on your face.

But then I took my razor to my skin.

And holy shave.

I’ve never had a smoother, closer shave. That slime? Turns out it’s magic. By the time I got to my head, the texture had grown on me — it’s not traditional, but it’s damn effective.

For the first time in a long time, I walked out of the shower with zero nicks — and that includes using a straight razor on my head, which has to be baby-bottom smooth or it’s a bad day. Fewer passes, less irritation, and a finish that made me do a double take in the mirror.

So yeah. I’m hooked. If you care about your face, your dome, or even your legs (ladies, this might be your jam too), do yourself a favor and grab a Cluck Hut Shave Bar.

Love how simple it is to use, nothing to lather. Just rub the bar across your neck and you're ready to shave.
My skin feels soft when done.

A couple quick swipes over my face while I’m in the shower, rub it around a little bit and I’m getting the closest and most comfortable shave I’ve had. Plus it’s great for the environment and smells amazing too.
Love it and will absolutely buy again. Seems like it should last a while.
